I am a Registered General Nurse (RGN) with thirty-seven years’ experience of working in a variety of healthcare settings. I have worked in elderly assessment and rehabilitation for fifteen years, including the development of a Stroke Rehabilitation Ward. I have also worked on a neurosciences unit for 15 years and have a wide experience of liaison with multi-disciplinary agencies to facilitate care delivery. I currently work predominantly as a community nurse but do continue with hospital nursing as well. My community work entails working autonomously and includes decision making, undertaking wound care, palliative care, CHC assessments, diabetic, taking blood and administering IV antibiotics and Tissue Viability.
In addition to my clinical role I provide expert witness nursing reports for the Court on care and nursing breach of duty. I understand my responsibilities under the Civil Procedure Rules pertaining to expert witnesses.
