A Registered General Nurse with experience in both hospital and community settings. Qualified in 1989, has worked within the field of renal therapies until 2011. Most recent NHS post was Renal Home Therapies Team Ward Manager holding full responsibility for the provision of nursing care both in the clinical area and in patients’ homes or places of work. Responsible for all aspects of patient assessment, care planning and care provision.
Since 2011 has provided reports in the specialist field of liability in the nursing and healthcare service areas. Experienced in assessment of nursing and care, reporting on the care needs including aids/equipment of individuals through personal injury caused by accidents at home, work, road traffic or medical/nursing negligence and loss of service of a family member. Experienced in providing Claimant, Defence and SJE reports on an approximate 50:40:10 basis. Has attended the Bond Solon Certificated Legal Training Courses: in Report Writing, Witness Familiarisation and Courtroom Skills Training. A member of the Royal College of Nursing. Provides case management services to adults with complex care needs.
The role includes the recruitment, management, monitoring and supervision of support packages, including that of staff and therapy provisions; family support and education, and liaison with educational, vocational and third sector providers.
